What’s at Stake if the PolyMet Sulfide Mine isn’t Stopped?

Why:  Join us in Duluth to learn more about recent developments like the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency comment suppression and the catastrophic failure of a tailings basin in Brazil.

Fond du Lac Elder Ricky DeFoe and WaterLegacy Board Member Matt Tyler were among a group of people who canoed to the proposed PolyMet site. They will share the short film about their journey and discuss the reality of copper-nickel mining in Minnesota. WaterLegacy Interim Board President Bill Hanson will share more about WaterLegacy’s current work. Come ask questions and learn about how you can get involved in helping stop PolyMet from polluting Northern Minnesota.

Water Action Day 2019

When:  Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at 8 AM – 4 PM

Where: 105 University Ave W, Saint Paul, Minnesota 55103

Why:  Join us for the Third Annual Water Action Day, Minnesota’s day to let our lawmakers know we care about our water!

This event will include a free breakfast followed by briefings from experts on policy goals and trainings on how to influence your legislators.

Throughout the day, participants can attend group meetings with their legislators, participate in a youth summit, attend important hearings on our bills, and join in the #ProtectOurWater rally in the Capitol Rotunda.
