Tell Governor Walz to support a contested case hearing for PolyMet

Just weeks ago, we had a huge victory when the Court of Appeals reversed the PolyMet permit to mine and dam safety permits and ordered a contested case hearing on these Department of Natural Resources (DNR) permits. Finally, Minnesotans would have an unbiased process to evaluate dam safety and financial protection for downstream communities and taxpayers. You can read the Court of Appeals’ decision here.

PolyMet has announced it will submit a Petition for Review to the Minnesota Supreme Court to overturn the Court of Appeals’ decision. The DNR could do the same and attempt to block an open contested case hearing process for DNR’s PolyMet permits.

Tell Governor Walz to uphold the law and support a rigorous, transparent, and democratic contested case hearing by not appealing the Court of Appeals’ decision.
